Administrative detention of women, purportedly for their protection, remains one of the key challenges that Jordan faces today. The Ministry of Interior continues to place some women in Reform and rehabilitation Centrs wthout having committed a crime that justifies limiting their liberty. However, this practice is deemed the only way to protect tem from murder by releatives who beliees women are gulty of moral lapses that tarnish the family's honor. This study sheds light on the legal framework governing the administrative detention of women in Jordan, and its compliance with international standards in this regard. In addition, it covers the stances of relevant governmental agencies and committees that provide services to this group of women.
