Assessment
This report introduces alternative green energy solutions to existing energy usage practices
in Wadi Rum and Disi camps. Alternative energy serves to overcome the difficulties
associated with the current practices. In order to fully map energy consumption, a detailed
survey was designed and completed for all camps. Detailed energy end use models for all
camps have been established, which map input energy to different energy consuming end
uses. Alternative options have been proposed, designed, and discussed in this report. In
addition, this report examines main barriers behind adopting renewable energy in camps.
Lastly, current energy consumption and generation in the areas are highlighted and
identified.
