Although women’s organizations in Amman are highly competent and have played a major
role in the past decade, organizations working towards women’s economic advancement in
rural areas still operate from a welfare point of view with little or no in-depth understanding of
Local Economic Development strategic directions. The Jordan National Forum for Women
(JNFW), established in 1995, has a membership of 120,000 volunteers across Jordan
working to achieve 5 objectives that shape its future outlook.
