Church of the Map Portal Project Concept paper  

The Church of the Map, a fifth century church in the city of Madaba (close to Amman) is world famous as it contains the oldest map of the Holy Land. A mosaic masterpiece, this map provides accurate historical and geographical information that is related to the Bible, and the events that have unfolded in this land over thousands of years. There are more than 290 pieces of information that can be drawn from the map, with cities, villages, and sites located in parts of Jordan, the West Bank, Israel, Lebanon, and Egypt.
