The following drawings are intended to provide design schematics for the Model Sleeping Tent in Wadi Rum Protected Area (WRPA). Two types for sleeping tents have been proposed. Type 1 uses a wooden podium as a base for the tent with an option to have an en-suite bathroom. this type will be used for stationary sleeping tents. However, it can be relocated as the tent and its podium can be dismantled and reassembled again. Type 2 will be used for temporary tents. An en-suite bathroom can also be accommodated within the tent. Type 2 tent is fixed directly to the ground and can easily be relocated. Layout options and design guidelines for both types are provided in the attached figures.
Figures 1 and 2 present alternative layouts and design details for Type 1: (Podium Sleeping Tent). Figures 3 and 4 present alternative layouts and design details for Type 2: (Temporary Sleeping Tent).
Figures 5 illustrate the typical details for tent canvas layers and opening solutions proposed for both types.
