Decentralizing Education in Jordan 2015  

This report was published in 2015 by the Identity Center and outlines the decentralization of education services in Jordan as well as opportunities to improve quality and equality of Jordanian Schools. In accordance with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of a decentralized state, the legislature is currently reviewing a draft law that would redefine the role of local authorities in governance. This paper assesses the prudence of education decentralization in Jordan as well as the potential consequences by comparing diverse forms of the process, their motivations, and their effects.
