FIRST USAID/JORDAN M&E CONFERENCE POST-CONFERENCE REPORT

USAID/Jordan, in collaboration with MESP and a number of IPs, held its first Annual M&E Conference in Jordan. The one-day conference was held on May 23, 2016 at the Sheraton Amman Hotel, and attended by the Mission Director, Chiefs of Party, Mission program and M&E staff, and M&E staff from all USAID IPs across Jordan.
The conference was designed to provide a mechanism of knowledge sharing and cross-learning of M&E best practices among the M&E community from the Mission and implementing partners. The conference was divided into morning and afternoon sessions to maximize attendance and ensure topics were relevant to the various audiences. The morning sessions included a facilitated question and answer session with a group of COP M&E champions and a similar session with three IP M&E manager thought-leaders, the objective of these sessions was to discuss M&E on a wider platform and support the positioning of M&E as a critical component of an Activity. The afternoon sessions were focused on facilitating technical discussions of best practices, collaboration and learning through a host of interactive discussions and practical sessions. Demonstrating the core priority of the conference on collaborative learning, the afternoon technical sessions were designed and developed by IP M&E staff to share their experiences using effective M&E tools and best practices that supports their work. These sessions were followed by a logic and brainteaser session to facilitate team building skills and networking. The final session was focused on brainstorming ideas for future collaboration and addressing key challenges facing M&E in Jordan.
