USAID Takamol’s Policy and Advocacy team drafted a document tackling the adequacy of national legislation to address forced labor. According to the constitution and international obligations, forced labor should be considered as a crime and shall be punishable as a penal offence, but till now such a crime does not exist in the penal law or any other penal legislation. It is worth mentioning that Labor law considers forced labor as a labor violation punishable by a fine and such a punishment is not suitable for such an act.
