Gender must be addressed in ongoing monitoring and in evaluations for the same reasons we address other issues:
in assessing whether an activity is achieving its objectives, we can consider what has been accomplished and what can
be learned and fed back into further efforts. Gender is a cross-cutting issue within the development policies of most international donors and national governments. If gender impacts are not evaluated, they are unlikely to be given any attention.
