HIGH RISE HIGH DENSITY WATER USE EFFICIENCY GUIDE

High-rise buildings and master planned high-density
developments are newly introduced to Jordan. As a result of
the water issues related to the construction of the first highrise
building, Jordan Gate, and the launch of the Abdali
master planned development, the Ministry of Water and
Irrigation requested USAID to support a comprehensive study
to investigate and make recommendations for the use of
alternative water sources of supply and water use efficiency
for high rise and high-density (HRHD) developments. This
study was conducted in 2008-2009. It presented international
and regional experience and recommendations for efficient
water use and reuse in HRHD developments. Following these
recommendations, studies and research were conducted in
Jordan on residential, commercial, and institutional water use
efficiency.
