The World Trade Organization’s Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) is a
plurilateral agreement with the objective of expanding world trade by providing a
framework for international competition in government procurement.1 The Government of
Jordan applied to accede to the GPA in July 2000. Article 9 of the JUSFTA provides that
Jordan and the US will enter into negotiations over Jordan’s accession to the GPA.
