Lessons Learned from the Installation of Demonstration Sites and Investment Fund

WIT and its partner ICBA worked with suppliers to study and capture the lessons learned from working with 27 farms in Investment Fund Round 1 and from the implementation of demonstration sites. The assessment revealed important findings that has assisted WIT in refining processes and approaches to achieve the desired outcomes and market changes in future programming. Overall, many farmers reported water and electricity savings, as well as improvements in their farm productivity, as a result of installing water-saving technologies. The common denominator shared by these farmers was that they had a decent prior knowledge of proper agricultural and farm management practices, and were willing to follow additional instructions and guidance given to them by suppliers and other market actors. On the other hand, some farmers were not as successful for several different reasons. These reasons were analyzed and summarized in this document.
