Interest in the marketing of cut flowers in Jordan started since the eighties of the last
century. At that time, producers initiated and organized the marketing process of flowers,
which resulted in the establishment of the Cooperative Producers of Cut Flowers. This
producer’ cooperative is involved in presenting and supporting the farmers and traders of cut
flowers at the Flower Market (Bourse) in Amman, which is the biggest market in the
kingdom. The market sells the flowers to all governorates in the Kingdom. Another small
market place for cut flower exists in Safout/Balqa’a; however, its sales are limited to the
capital city Amman.
