The aim of the USAID Makanati Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Analysis was to uncover the drivers of gender-and diversity-inequitable behaviors at the individual, community, private sector, and policy levels, and their impact on women’s employment and leadership, to inform the implementation of USAID Makanati. The Analysis explored USAID Makanati’s four focus sectors: tourism; media and creative industries; logistics and transportation; and manufacturing. It also covered the project’s nine focus geographical areas: Amman, Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, Petra, Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash, and Zarqa.
