This report focuses on the challenges and reform priorities for gender equality in the MENA Region. Following the approach of the World Development Report (WDR) 2012. The report argues that “gender equality is smart economics” in MENA, as it is around the world. The report draws on economic analysis of quantitative data from region, qualitative research, and other international evidence to analyze gender challenges and identify the priority areas for policy action to promote gender equality in the Region.
