Jordan’s water security is central to the country’s stabilizing role in the Middle East. Yet Jordan is extremely vulnerable as it is experiencing many freshwater challenges that include a long-term drought, trans-boundary water competition, and the influx of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees. This article explores these issues and more, with particular focus on the Jordan Water Project.
