Women Prisoners Survey Jordan Tunisia 2014

This report contains the survey results from Jordan and Tunisia, its objective is to support the implementation of the international standards set by the Bangkok Rules. By providing facts and figures, the report seeks to illustrate the need for gender specific policies that respond to the needs of women in prison, and to enable countries to identify the key areas which need to be addressed as a matter of priority. This publication has been produced by Penal Reform International with the financial assistance of the UK Government and of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The report published in 2014, highlights the areas which should be considered as a matter of priority in order to address the most urgent needs of women prisoners. Given the ongoing reforms of the prison and justice system in Jordan, it is hoped that these recommendations will inform current and future policies and programmes for all women prisoners.
