HRH2030, in collaboration with various stakeholders including the MOH’s directors of personnel affairs, training, and quality, the Jordanian Nursing Council, and the Jordanian Medical Council, defined professional competencies for key service providers at the primary health care level. To inform the competency development process, HRH2030 conducted an in-depth literature review, reviewed existing job descriptions for primary health care level positions, undertook field visits to primary care centers, and interviewed key staff at different levels during field visits. HRH2030 then developed a list of core competencies that can be applied universally to all care providers at primary health care centers, as well as position-specific competencies.
This document presents competencies for healthcare professionals working at the primary health care level. It is expected that these competencies will not only be included as part of the job descriptions for primary care providers, but will also inform the supportive supervision process, the performance evaluation process, and the continuing professional development process.
