This “Glossary of Evaluation and Related Terms” was published by USAID in 2009. It “was jointly prepared by a committee consisting of evaluation staff of the Office of the Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance of the State Department and USAID to develop a broad consensus about various terms used in monitoring and evaluation of foreign assistance. The primary intended users are the State Department and USAID staff responsible for initiating and managing evaluations of foreign assistance programs and projects.”

How to Note Preparing Evaluation Reports 2012

This note was published by USAID in 2012. It supplements USAID Automated Directives System (ADS) and provides good practice in preparing evaluation reports, the main deliverable for most evaluations. “Following these practices will help to establish clear expectations for evaluation reports during the preparation of evaluation statements of work and the in-briefing of the evaluation team. These practices also serve as a guide for reviewing the quality of draft evaluation reports submitted by the evaluation team. This Note is also a resource for USAID partners and independent evaluators of USAID programs and projects. Performance Management Plan (PMP) Toolkit

This Performance Management Plan PMP Toolkit draws upon updated agency monitoring and evaluation guidance and new processes relating to the USAID Program Cycle. The Toolkit is designed to serve as an ongoing resource for USAID staff engaged in performance management roles as they plan for and manage effective performance monitoring and evaluation over the course of the Mission’s strategy. The PMP is only a useful tool if missions are actively using and learning from their monitoring and evaluation data, the Toolkit also provides helpful tips and ideas on using the PMP to strengthen the Mission’s approach to learning, collaborating, and adapting. The PMP Toolkit replaces the version of the Toolkit that was originally published in 2003. This toolkit published by Social Impact, Inc., in 2014.
